Episode 4- The Little Prince

on my way home i walk into my elevator and press my floor 8. my neighbor walks in, presses 15. 815! YES. Time for Lost!

- did anyone notice that kate seemed as if she was trying to justify that clair was going to put aaron up for adoption.

- jack says again.. you are either with me or against me.

- charlotte's memory loss. Some are guessing that her problems might be unique to her as it's possible she was born on the Island. That was hinted at when she told Daniel that she was still looking for the place she was born. I've also seen some suggest that there is some significance to the fact that it's her mothers maiden name she cannot remember. perhaps something has changed enough that it has imprinted itself, or un-imprinted itself from her memory.

- miles says everything's back to normal, when it isn't.

- sayid out for 42 hours (number). 3 doses of horse tranquilizers. i tried to find out info on horse tranquilizers and humans but couldn't.

- ben is on our side.. only side he's on is his own.

- dr. clinical services? what was her name?

- who is the nurse? have we seen him before.

- they always ask 'when we are'.. not what year is it.. seems ok.

-charlotte says you don't have to baby me.. is she daniel's daughter?

- when kate is helping claire give birth she says the baby is all of ours.. obviously ben feels the same way!

- kate says sawyer is gone.. sawyer says what he saw was gone now. is this foreshadowing for sawyer's death? he is wearing a red shirt

- those getting bloody noses depends on duration of exposure to island.. these are the illnesses before the vaccination (desmond had to wear a hazmat suit but the losties were ok). since they are time travelling, they aren't exposed to the illness. also miles has no recollection of being born on the island (he's definitely pierre chang/dr. wickmund/halliwax/candle's son)

- saw this theory on a msg board and i agree! Anyone think that the whispers are our losties? They are walking thru the jungle...WHISPERING...travelling thru time...could be they be the whispers we've been hearing? If not them, OTHERS travelling thru time observing & whispering?

- danielle called someone alex on the boat.. assuming this is the father of her baby (alex). interesting that ben says aaron is not her son yet he takes alex as his own daughter.

- why do they keep going between hurley and hugo?

- everyone always looks like someone else - i noticed that claire's mom looked like penny! there's also juliette/jack's ex wife/penny/karen degroot, sun/pierre chang's babymama, young rousseau/kate, frogurt/young charles widmore/carl (alex's boyfriend), woman who answered the door at theresa's house/butcher and so on..

- where is sun's baby.. did someone take her and is sun doing what she has to do to get her back by duping kate? she said to kate last week that she would do whatever it took to keep aaron. or maybe ben is going to tell her he can prove that jin is alive to gain her trust and get her back to the island.

- producers have said that it all goes back to the pilot episode.. looks like jack is in the same suit as when they land.. i think they will time travel back and crash on the island (perhaps in ajira airlines) but that the pilot episode is when it starts all over again.. time loop!

- when rousseau meets jin in the future does she look at him like she's met him before. because clearly she has 16 years ago..

- The Little Prince- published in 1943 by a French Aviator Antoine Saint Exupery. On December 30, 1935 at 14:45 after a flight of 19 hours and 38 minutes Saint Exupéry, along with his navigator, André Prévot, crashed in the Libyan Sahara desert en route to Saigon. by day three of the crash, they experienced audio & visual hallucinations. The essence of the book is contained in the famous lines uttered by the fox to the Little Prince: "On ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." (One cannot see well except with the heart, the essential is invisible to the eyes). Other key thematic messages are articulated by the fox, such as: "You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed" and "It is the time you have spent with your rose that makes your rose so important. "

Interleaved in the first nine chapters the narration's point of view changes from third person to first person. In the first eight days of the narrator being stranded in the desert, the Prince has been telling these stories to the narrator. The prince asks the narrator to draw a sheep (JACK SHEPPARD!)

Chapter 16 begins: "So then the seventh planet was the Earth". On the Earth, he starts out in the desert and meets a snake that claims to have the power to return him to his home planet (A clever way to say that he can kill people, thus "Sending anyone he wishes back to the land from whence he came.")

In 1997, Jean-Pierre Davidts wrote what could be considered a sequel to The Little Prince, entitled Le petit prince retrouvé^[8] ('The Little Prince Returns'). In this version, the narrator is a shipwrecked man who encounters the Little Prince on a lone island; the Prince has returned to find help against a tiger who threatens his sheep.

- saw an interesting theory online that makes sense: My theory is that the people on the island are suffering from the temporal displacement, although not in the brain, in the body. Their body is moving through time, but to them, to their brains it is still 2004. See? Its reverse, as to what Desmond suffered when his body stayed in 2004 but his mind jumped to 1996. That is why the Constant was so important. The O6 is the leftbehinders Constant. It makes sense. The reason they have to go back, is because if they don't, everybody on the island will die. Isn't that what Locke said to Jack? Everybody will die if he didn't return. The O6 need to return to put their minds and bodies back in the same place.

Season 5- Jughead

WOOT! Episode 3, season 5. Named after one of my favorite Archie comic book characters!

some Jughead references:
- Jughead's Time Police was a series that began in 1990 featuring Jughead as a hero of the 29^th century and a member of the Time Police, an organization that ensures history to remain the same for the future's sake. In this series, the beanie gives Jughead the ability to time travel by thinking. With his supervisor, Marshal January McAndrews, Jughead repairs disturbances in the past. Upon receiving a special beanie from an unknown benefactor, Jughead gains the ability to travel to the past and future at will. Joined by Deputy January McAndrews (Archie's descendant from the 29th century), Jughead travelled across history, ensuring that history stayed on its proper course. Paradoxes and existential dilemmas were often plot developments.

- Jughead has been depicted as disliking romance and the ways it leads young men to make fools of themselves. (Faraday confessing his love about Charlotte). In another story, he describes that the reason why he does not chase after girls is because of a childhood heartbreak. (Ben!)

-Another thread that has run through stories in recent years involves a psychic experience he is supposed to have had, caused by an odd pin he wears on his hat.

-In other stories, Jughead has shown the following abilities: control weather (causing rain clouds to appear over his head), give the evil-eye (curse people with bad luck), learn the skills presented in any book he reads (including downhill skiing while reading a book - though the knowledge is lost when he reads a new book)and predict the future.

- why is desmond always on a boat?

- the birth of charlie (aww!) reminded me of how ben was born..

- when desmond tells charlie to look beyond where you can see, that's a reference to beyond the sea (shannon sang it). special island thought he'd never see it again. and tells him there are monsters on the island, in Scotland!

- locke's reference to the 30 caliber M1 rifle was a rifle used in the US military between the years 1942-1960. normal range for a gun was 50 yards prior to this gun's existence.

- 5 plays a BIG part of this episode (1950s H Bomb, could be 5 min or 5000 years, 5 years ago theresa & abigail's dad died, 50 years from now the island is still here, 1954 we are on the island, 1956 Locke is born) in numerology 5 means you are an explorer and adventurer who wants to experience all of life. Some of the following weaknesses, which are associated with the number 5, could slow down or even prevent your progress. But don't worry, it's very unlikely that all of the listed characteristics are part of your personality. It is difficult for you to commit to one relationship and you have difficulties to finish projects. You lack discipline and order, you are impatient, restless, easily distracted and you can be very impulsive.

- did the girl with the gun (ellie) who looked like the girl in the picture with farraday look pregnant? i believe this is eliose hawkings.. faraday's mother who is pregnant with faraday.

- abigail & theresa spencer.. who was their dad that died 5 years ago.. relative of whidmore? farraday? or a coverup. does whidmore have a twin? in the book "bad twin" by gary troup- the manuscript left on the island sawyer was reading.. a private investigator was hired to find the "bad twin" of fictious "Clifford Whidmore". Theresa- name of Ana Lucia's mom & Shannon & Boone's nanny. (boone also tells locke in his dream, Theresa falls up the stairs, Theresa falls down the stairs)

- sawyer calls this crazy town.. which reminds me of the episode titled eggtown or could be a reference to the mental institution.

- faraday says to bury it (bomb/nikki/paulo/the past)

- richard's eyes were completely black when locke is saying jacob sent him. he also said the leadership process starts at a young age.. richard won't have visited locke yet (locke has now time travelled back to 1954, locke born in 1956 and richard visits him a few years later) but a future locke tells richard to come visit him as a child which child Locke wouldn't know and Locke isn't remembering.

- who is controlling the time on the island that it keeps shifting. is it still changing from the frozen donkey wheel?

Season 5- Because You Left; The Lie

Welcome back Losties! it's been too long. I've been spending my time re-watching past seasons to look for clues- they will be incorporated into the blog. Also, apologies this wasn't updated right after the show aired but moving forward I will update as soon as I can. And shoutout to Doug O who is now officially part of IDJ new media by getting addicted to LOST!

- Locke in the casket.. but he's not dead. my theory is that the spiders that paralyzed nikki & paulo were used on him. that bogus episode had to happen for a reason. also reference to them by hurley's dad watching expose, the show nikki was in with billy dee williams.

- shotgun willie- from 1973. record skips like the island skips. check out the lyrics:

- Agostini and Norton law firm (guys that visit kate) is an anagram for "attaining donor son". the lawyer's name in Dan Norton (Dan Norton is a real life comic book writer who wrote for Dark Horse Comics- kate sees a dark horse on the island).

- miles wearing a hood. mrs. hawking also had a hood on. almost jedi-like.

- rainbow drive in- rainbow - wizard of oz reference.

- hugo says he wants a cool code name.. is this how he becomes hurley? do they time travel back and that's how he comes up with his name?

- locke's compass points north. mr. eko's jesus stick says look north.

- mattingly- one of the men threatened to cut off juliette's hand. mattingly- as in don, was also known as "the hit man". his baseball # is 23. jones- another guy- reference to jonestown? are mattingly, jones & cunningham living on the island when widmore ran it?

- desmond is faraday's constant. Faraday tells Desmond that the rules do not apply to him, because he is uniquely and miraculously special. So does that means that Desmond can change the past, and thus also the future? If that is in fact true, and Charles Widmore could also know this to be true, perhaps that is why he wanted Desmond to stay away from Penny - and by extension, himself.

- hurley- someday i'll remember this. you'll need my help and i'm not going to give it.
are the dead people hurley sees his constants? also, the dead aren't really dead: If you go back in time and die, you are not “totally” dead because there has already been a variation of the universe where you were alive in the future. Thus, you become “half dead” until time catches back up. In other words, your presence may be known to some people but not others. Your presence would only be known when you are required to make an impact to fate.

- hurley references the godfather. in the pilot, locke put an orange in his mouth and smiled like the godfather did.

- neil/frogurt. another annoying extra. however, sawyer picks up a shirt and asks who's it is. neil says it's his foreshadowing his own death.. boone said"red shirts" were always the ones which were killed on missions in the television show "Star Trek". michael wears a lot of red shirts. most of the cast is in blue, green, brown or plaids in those colors.

- why did sun's baby appear much younger than aaron? they should only be 9 months apart.

- kate said in a past episode usually you can tell someone is lying if they look away. people on lost look right in each other's eyes when they lie.

- hurley's shirt- shith-tzu dogs- display qualities of devotion and adaptability. They are not afraid to stand up for themselves. They tend to be sweet, playful, and trusting as well. also "Dream Police" is playing in the deli where he gets the shirt. - odd that hurley's parents seem to not recognize sayid.. when he was at hurley's birthday party. seems as if there's some time traveling going on there, hence why hurley isn't hurley yet but still hugo.


- jill- my theory is that jill is annie, ben's childhood friend who gave him the doll. off the island she has a different name like locke's jeremy bentham, because she is supposed to be dead. i believe ben helped get her off the island before he poisoned the dharmas. also, the producers said that annie, horace & olivia goodspeed will play a big part this season.

- mrs. hawking- stephen hawking is a real life British theoretical physicist http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Hawking- he also wrote A Brief History of Time. A Brief History of Time is a popular science non-fiction book which was written to make the esoteric subject of astrophysics (and theories about how the universe began) accessible to laypeople, with minimal technical jargon. The book begins with an introduction to physics concepts such as gravity and black holes, and concludes with analysis and search for a grand unifying theory. is she more powerful than ben? is she faraday's mother? or charlotte's mother? she is the one to help course-correct the universe. she needs ben to get the others back to the island or we all die.. god help us all.

- is charlotte farraday's daughter? when she says i haven't had a nosebleed since i was a child he looks weird. their relationship could be more of a father/daughter one. and maybe he is supposed to bring charlotte back to the island or maybe she insists on going so he goes with her to protect her.

As many of you may be aware there have been a number of security breaches in recent days related to the nature of the Dharma Initiative's latest research.

Apart from the leak of a sensitive internal communication there was also the unauthorized release of confidential video documentation during a sponsored panel discussion with the makers of the TV show "LOST" at Comic-Con 2008 in San Diego. Consequently, the person responsible for this breach, a promising recruit by the name of Dan Bronson, has been expelled from the volunteer program and had his Dharma Initiative membership permanently revoked. Furthermore, the Dharma Initiative has withdrawn their sponsorship from "LOST".

The Dharma Initiative must stress that the video material leaked at Comic-Con 2008 was viewed entirely out of context. Furthermore, the way in which the material was presented utterly distorted its significance and credibility as scientific data.

The Dharma Initiative is extremely disappointed with this outcome and has ordered a security audit of all departments. As part of this audit the DharmaWantsYou recruiting website will undergo a security upgrade in the next few days.

Upon completion of this upgrade a date will be announced for the official commencement of Volunteer Assessments.

All recruits are reminded that the unauthorized release of confidential information pertaining to the details of your activities within the Dharma Initiative will result in instant dismissal from the volunteer program.

* The island did not travel when the hatch imploded, but something did happen. * We'll see more of Locke and Jin on the show. "Dead is a relative term," and there's still a lot of story to be told about those characters. * Their favorite episodes are "The Constant" (Carlton) and "Exodus" (Damon). Damon adds that he really liked season four, and he admitted the show has had its "ups and downs." * They reiterated that getting an end date for the show has really reinvigorated it in terms of giving it energy and purpose. * We will see Rousseau's story this year, but it won't exactly be a flashback. We're done with flashbacks and flashforwards, but there will be some time-jumping excitement anyway. There will be storytelling on and off the island, and in different periods of time. * Vincent the Dog is fine and will be in season five — and will survive until the end of the show. * The Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle is central to the show, and we'll see more interesting permutations of it over the next two seasons. And Kate will see Sawyer again. * The nameless extras in the Zodiac boat with Farraday, stranded with the island gone, may be toast, but "things are looking up" for Farraday himself. * Speaking of Daniel, he has a little notebook that tells him stuff that's happened, and stuff that will happen soon, and it's going to figure prominently in season five. * Richard Alpert is "quite old," thanks to the island's mystical properties, and we'll see more of his history this year. We'll also see him barefoot in "the near future, pun intended," so we'll find out how many toes he has. On Saturday at the San Diego Comic-Con, a huge crowd of Lost fans was treated to a Q&A session with the famous team of Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, several knick-knacks, a few pieces of scoop and one big surprise. To kick things off, "Darlton" handed out specific gifts to each person who asked a question. The best exchange: An uncanny Hurley look-a-like was awarded a Dharma bottle of ranch dressing. Later, after someone posed a question about the Jack/Kate/Sawyer love triangle, the exec producers began bickering about how the action figure they were about to gift the fan didn't really look like Matthew Fox. Cue the surprise entrance of... Matthew Fox! The Losties went nuts because not five minutes earlier Darlton said the panel was only going to involve the two of them (if only because the cast is so hard to track down before they start shooting in Hawaii). The main draw for any Lost diehard, of course, is the vague promise of scoop. As far as new intel goes, it was typically scarce. The execs revealed that Jin (who last was seen on the exploding freighter) and Locke (reclined in a coffin under the purview of FutureJack as the season finale faded to black) each would be back in some capacity, and that "dead is a relative term" on this show. Also, animal lovers may be pleased to know that Vincent is not only alive and well, but will make it to the end of the series! To wrap things up, a fan came out on stage with a video camera screaming that he had "exclusive video from the Dharma booth." It was shot Blair Witch-style, and was clearly a planned part of the panel, yet the footage still was hilarious. As the tape unspoiled, the scientist from the Dharma orientation films hinted that the island is 30 years behind. (The hatch music from the '70s now makes a bit more sense.) He begged anyone watching to reconstitute the Dharma Initiative, because all of the original doctors are dead. Say what?! Lost executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse weren't expected to reveal much of anything about the upcoming season at their Comic-Con panel Saturday; production on the drama won't begin for another three weeks in Hawaii and the writers are typically loathe to give spoilers away, anyway. Still, the duo didn't disappoint. They immediately took questions from the audience and gave Lost memorabilia to anyone who made it up to the microphone. Besides handing out nifty prizes like an autographed life jacket and a T-shirt that read, "I asked a question about Richard Alpert and all I got was this lousy T-shirt," the producers did offer up a few tidbits about the coming year. Jin and Locke will appear in one form or another, Rousseau's story will finally be told, and Walt's dog Vincent will stage a comeback (some fan, in fact, actually inquired about the dog's status before asking about any human characters). Oh, and Lindelof insisted that the Island did not move in the finale. Matthew Fox (pictured) showed up, too, mostly to glad-hand a fan and smile pretty for the room. The panel then took an odd turn when a pudgy, red-faced "recruit" from the Dharma Initiative bounded on stage to report that he just captured secret video from Dharma's Comic-Con booth. It featured Lost character Dr. Marvin Candle admitting to the camera that his real name was Chang, he was a professor from Ann Arbor, Mich., and that he was about to fall victim to a "violent purge" that he's "powerless to escape" (translation: he's dead now, folks). Candle's purpose for the video? He wanted to say his research on the Island was valid so the "Dharma Initiative should be reconstituted."
